Pertussis Vaccine

• Td vaccine can protect adolescents and

adults from tetanus and diphtheria.
• TETANUS (Lockjaw) causes painful
muscle tightening and stiffness, usually all
over the body.
• It can lead to tightening of muscles in the
head and neck so you can’t open your
mouth, swallow, or sometimes even
breathe.
Td Vaccine
• DIPHTHERIA can cause a thick coating to
form in the back of the throat.
• It can lead to breathing problems, heart
failure, paralysis, and death.
• Since vaccination began, reports of cases
for both diseases have dropped by about
99%.
Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)

• Tdap vaccine can protect adolescents and

adults from tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis
• Pregnant women should get a dose of Tdap
during every pregnancy, to protect the newborn
from pertussis.
• PERTUSSIS (Whooping Cough) causes severe
coughing spells, which can cause difficulty
breathing, vomiting, and disturbed sleep.
• It can also lead to weight loss, incontinence, and
rib fractures.
DTaP (Diphtheria, tetanus, and
pertussis vaccine )
• (DTaP) can help prevent these
diseases.
• Most children who are vaccinated with
DTaP will be protected throughout
childhood. Many more children would get
these diseases if we stopped vaccinating.
Hepatitis A vaccine
• Hepatitis A vaccine is highly effective in
preventing Hepatitis A virus infection.
• Protection begins approximately 2 to 4
weeks after the first injection.
• A second injection results in long-term
protection.
Dengue Vaccine
• Dengvaxia prevention is currently limited
to vector control measures
• There are no specific dengue therapeutics
Diptheria and Tetanus Vaccine
• DTaP, Tdap, DT, and Td.
• Vaccination is the most effective step you
can take to be protected from diptheria
and tetanus
• DTaP and DTare given to children younger
than 7 years of age
• Tdap and Td are given to older children
and adults.
