WHAT IS ADJECTIVES?
are words that describe the qualities or
states of being of nouns: enormous,
doglike, silly, yellow, fun, fast. They can
also describe the quantity of
nouns: many, few, millions, eleven.
Three degree of
comparison
1. Positive degree
2. Comparative degree
3. Superlative degree
Positive degree

It is use to describe one person or


thing.
Example:

1.The clown is funny.


2.Jham is beautiful.
Comparative degree
It is use to compare two person or
things.
“ er” is added to positive form of some
adjectives to denote the comparative
degree.
Adjectives with three or more syllables
form their comparative degree by
adding more or less to the positive
degree.
Example:

1. Honey is sweeter than


sugar.
2. The earth is larger than
moon.
Superlative degree
It is use to compare three or more
persons or things.
“est” is added the positive form of
some adjectives to denote the
superlative degree.
Example:

1.Perlit gave the longest report of all.


2.Diamond is most precious of all.
3.Of the three shows, this is the least
delightful.
Most or least is added to
positive degree of adjectives
having three or more
syllables.
