 Lightning
 General Classification
Lightning is a natural phenomenon that
usually occurs anywhere when the rainy season
arrives, including Indonesia. In addition to the
tense flashes of light and thunderous sounds that
can sometimes be shocking, the fact that lightning
can also have an extraordinary impact, even there
are some events so that someone dies due to
lightning. This lightning strike not only endangers
living things, but can also damage buildings and so
on, especially tall buildings or skyscrapers.
 Description
Lightning is a symbol of natural electricity,
Lightning has the characteristics of a bright white
flash and followed by a loud bang. This natural
phenomenon of lightning can be analogous to a
giant condenser. The so-called lightning is a
blinding flash of white light, while the thunderous
sound that comes after that is called thunder.
Lightning and thunder come hand in hand, but
sometimes the time lag between the flash and
also the thunder is fairly short. The difference in
arrival time is due to the difference between the
speed of sound and also the speed of light.
According to scientists, the energy released
by a single flash of lightning is greater than
the energy produced by all power plants in
America. One flash of lightning can light a
100 watt light bulb for more than three
months. In addition, lightning also produces
nitrogen molecules needed for plants on
earth to support their lives. Lightning is
indeed a frightening specter for some people.
For people who are afraid of lightning or
thunderous sounds it will be very painful
when in the middle of a rain.
It is undeniable that lightning often creates a lot
of danger. then from that it is very necessary to
know what we need to do to avoid these
dangers. Some steps we can take to minimize
the risk or danger of lightning strikes are do not
take shelter under objects made of metal, stay
away from screen poles so as not struck by
lightning, squat with your feet together, do not
stand under a tree, do not stand in groups, keep
away mobile phones and water pipes and also
turn off or unplug the power cord from the
electrical socket of all electronics.
