ABSTRACT :
The main aim of this project is to detect the baby’s cry and stop it by playing the music
automatically thereby sending a SMS to the parents on mobile if the baby is crying. The
biggest problem that mothers face is that they can't leave their babies alone in a room
asleep, that they must sit next to them, and leave anything else in there hand because
getting afraid if the baby starts to wake up which is a wasting of time, from there came our
IDEA.This system proposes a simple voice detection system which can be applied
practically for designing a device which has a capability to detect a baby cry which is
based on Arduino microcontroller board and plays the music. This project supports
working parents in taking care of their lonely babies which deals with the theme of public
safety.

PUBLIC SAFETY
Public safety is the function of governments which ensures the protection of citizens, persons in their
territory, organizations, and institutions against threats to their well-being – and to the prosperity of
their communities.

To meet the increasing challenges in the public security area, responsible public institutions and
organizations can tap into their own intelligence to successfully address possible threats in advance.
Public safety Organizations include law enforcement ,fire and emergency medical services. It is also
the duty of the government to look after the public safety measure.

The first & most thing of Public safety not only follows the safety rules of public but also to take care
about the public in the society. The idea of the ‘BABY CRY DETECTOR’ aims to take care the baby
in mother’s absence. Mother will not be beside the baby always, so this project aims to be good
source about taking care of baby and ensuring the real public safety.
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
• Parents in the present world are busy in their professional life, so they do not get sufficient
time to take care of their babies.

• It is inconvenient for parents to constantly watch over their baby while doing their work or
chores. So we have designed an simple system which helps parents in taking care of baby.

• This system proposes a simple voice detection system which can be applied practically
for designing a device with capability to detect a baby’s cry and automatically turning on
baby sleep music to make the baby stop crying and simultaneously sending a message to the
parents on phone that the baby is crying, the system is based on Arduino microcontroller.
Whenever the baby Cry, it is detected by the controller with the help of Mic and in order to
that turns on the music and sleep mechanism which creates soothing sound which makes
baby sleep again gently.

• In this project a program is implemented to detect an infant’s crying. It can detect baby’s cry
while ignoring other sounds like clap, sneeze, fan, sudden sounds, environment sounds etc.
 EXPLANATION OF BLOCK DIAGRAM

• Arduino Board: An open source hardware and software microcontroller kit for building devices
and interactive objects that can sense and control both physically and digitally.
• Sound Detector :It is device which senses the sound , processes an output signal voltage which is
sent to a microcontroller then performs necessary processing.
• LED Sensor: A Diode used for light emitting when current is passed.
• GSM Shield: Device which supports mobile operating message system (SMS or text messaging)
and data communication connected to a Arduino.
• Music Player: A Device which makes the baby to sleep by producing a melodious music

SELECTED MODELS:
• WHEEL CHAIR • Using wood make a chair with the below dimensions.

• Push handles ,Armrests ,Footrest etc can be added to the

chair if necessary.

• Now make the wheels with proper radius.

• Attach both the wheels firmly to the opposite sides of the

chair.

• Finally Check the wheelchair is moving

• Length of the Chair (l) = 450 mm

POWER SUPPLY BOARD

A power supply board is an electrical device that supplies electrical power to an electrical load.

• Make the PCB board.

• Using drilling machine make holes in the copper

board and fix the components in their marked
places.

• Connect the components using soldering with the

help of circuit diagram.

• After fixing the components check that PCB is

• Take a sheet metal and cut into required shape needed.

• Then by using hammer fold into the required shape.

• Prepare hanging for sheet metal tray which size is required.

• Then by using spot welding machine attach hanging to sheet metal

tray.

• Then sheet metal tray was completed.

CONCLUSION:

The prototype of the Baby cry detector is designed successfully. Crying Baby Detector is a project
taken from Baby Monitor concept but the differences are that my idea take some actions like
automatic playing music for the baby so that the baby get back to sleep, using what's called White
Noise which is some quiets noise or music that comfort the baby which get him/her back to sleep.
This illustrates when baby is Crying, the sensor readily detects the Sound, alerts the parents via SMS
on phone and starts playing lullaby to soothe the baby.
