Program to ensure sanyam and

swasthya
Program to sanyam
• Sanyam is the feeling of responsibility towards
the body by cultivating right restraints and
understanding to take care of the body as self
organised system . The broad program of
sanyam includes the following:
1. Nurturing the body
2. Protection of the body
3. Physical exercise
4. Right utilization of the body
Nurturing the body
(poshan)
• The body needs for food, air , water etc . For its proper
nurture . For selecting the food one should we aware
of the required nutrients and energy of the body .
There is no criteria of selecting vegetarian or non
vegetarian food recommended by various mystics and
other realized beings some prefer to take pure
vegetarian food in moderate quantity .
• The process of taking food , digesting it and throwing
out the unnecessary part are all important . Thus the
nurturing of the body shall be include :
(a)Ingestion (grahan)
• The food taken should be chewed well before
swallowing . With proper chewing , the work
of the lower parts of become simplified and
consequently food will be digested properly .
(b)Digestion ( pachan)
• The digestion process is done by the body
itself . One needs to aware of the right
quantity and kind of food to be taken . One
should take food while one is hungry, not just
to please others . That food should be taken
which is healthy and easily digest .
Protection of the body
• The second issue in the program is protection
of the body with right clothes and shelter . For
selecting the clothes , one should ensure that
there is right amount of exposure of the body
to the air , water , and sun and the person
should feel comfortable after wearing them
.to ensure the protection of the body one
needs following:
(a)Proper upkeep of the body
• When a person tired , one needs to taken a
certain amount of rest , and relaxation of body
to regain the energies . There should be
proper balance between work with rest . We
need to work under hygienic conditions .
(b)Physical labour
One needs to perform required amount of the
physical labour and exercise to keep the body
healthy .
Physical exercise
• The third program is physical exercise for the
body and proper healing the body :
a) Asan pranayam :yogasana are well designed
exercise to keep of the body healthy and fit .
There are different asans and they have different
effects on the body .
b) Treatment of the body :the human body may
get unhealthy or hurt at certain time . Then it
needs proper treatment to regain the same level
of energy .
Right utilization of the body
• One needs right equipments for increasing the
efficiency of the body . It depends upon
person to person ,,place to place and purpose
to purpose . One also needs to utilize the body
of proper purposes . If human body is used for
proper purposes ,it is more likely to be fit in
the long run .
UNDERSATNDING SWASTHYA
• Sanyam ensures swasthya . The body acts according to the
needs of “I”. With sanyam ,one cultivates the responsibility
in”I” towards the body for its nuture ,protection and right
utilization . Swastya is a condition of the body where every
part of the body is performing is expected functions and is
harmony within the body and the self .
• To ensure health ,sawsthya ,one needs to:
• Take proper food , air and water in right quanity.
• Chew the food properly to get it digested .
• Take proper rest and exercise at regular intervals in
harmony with the self .
• Protect the body properly by ensuring proper time .
• Utilizing the body in right way .
