LINE GRAPH

It shows relationship
between two or more sets
of continuous data.
EXAMPLE
Miss Villa asked her class to
record the weather
temperature at 6:00 A.M., and
every 3 hours thereafter until
9:00 P.M. Very keenly, one of
the students recorded the
following data:
EXAMPLE
TIME TEMPERATURE

6:00 A.M. 28.8˚C

9:00 A.M. 29.4˚C

12:00 NOON 32.6˚C

3:00 P.M. 31.0˚C

6:00 P.M. 30.0˚C

9:00 P.M. 29.2˚C

QUESTIIONS!

1.)What is the maximum

temperature recorder for the day?
-The maximum temperature for the
day is 32.6˚C recorded at 12:00
QUESTIIONS!
2.)at what time was the temperature
increasing? And decreasing?

- The temperature increased from

6:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon. The
temperature decreased from 12:00
noon to 9:00 P.M.
THINGS TO REMEMBER IN
CONTRUCTIONG LINE GRAPH
1. State clearly the tittle of the graph indicating the
important information about the data.
2. Label both axes. For a multiple line graph a legend
will facilitate understanding of the information the
graph wants to convey. the zero point should be
clearly indicated.
3. Connect plotted points from left to right.
4. Sources or footnotes should be provided, if Necessary.
5. For multiple line graphs, one should be distinguished
from the other. This can be done through the use of
color or line forms.
