ACTIVITY NO. 2

1.) Give 10 examples of even numbers greater than 50?

answer: 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66, 68, 70

2.) Give 10 examples of even numbers less than -20?

answer: -22, -24, -26, -28, -28, -30, -32, -34, -36, -38, -40

3.) Give 10 examples of odd numbers greater than 51?

answer: 53, 55, 57, 59, 61, 63, 65, 67, 69, 71

4.) Give 10 examples of odd numbers less than -21?

answer: -23, -25, -27, -29, -31, -33, -35, -37, -39, -41

ACTIVITY NO. 3

1.) Give 10 consecutive numbers that has a difference of 6?

7, 13, 19, 25, 31, 37, 43, 49, 55, 61

2.) Give 10 consecutive even numbers less than 40?

12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30

3.) Give 10 consecutive odd numbers greater than -99?

-51, -53, -55, -57, -59, -61, -63, -65, -67, -69

4.) Prove that 2n and 2n + 2 are consecutive even numbers, and so are 2n – 2 and 2n if n = 2?

If n = 2,

= 2n 2n + 2

= 2(2) 2(2) + 2 If 4 & 6 are the values of given

equations and both numbers are even
=4 4+2 numbers. Therefore, 2n and 2n + 2
are consecutive even numbers.
=6

= 2n - 2 2n

= 2(2) - 2 2(2) If 2 & 4 are the values of given

equations and both numbers are even
=4-2 numbers. Therefore, 2n – 2 and 2n
=4 are consecutive even numbers.
=2 64

5.) Prove that 2n – 1 and 2n + 1 are

consecutive odd numbers and so are 2n + 1 and 2n + 3 if n = 3.

If n = 3,

= 2n - 1 = 2n + 1

5 & 7 are the values of given equations.

= 2(3) - 1 = 2(3) + 1 Both numbers are odd numbers. Both 5
& 7 are also consecutive.Therefore, 2n
=5 =6+1 – 1 and 2n + 1 are consecutive odd
numbers.
=7

= 2n = 1 = 2n + 3
7 & 9 are the values of given
= 2(3) + 1 = 2(3) + 3 equations and both numbers are
odd numbers. Therefore, 2n + 1
=7 =6+3 and 2n + 3 are consecutive odd
numbers.
=9

b.) 126 = 12 x 12 x 12 x 12 x 12 x12 = 2,985,984

c.) 204 = 20 x 20 x 20 x 20 = 160,000

d.) 88 = 8 x 8 x 8 x 8 x 8 x 8 x 8 x 8 = 16,777,216
