Five Principles of Constructivism, as identified
by Brooks and Brooks (1999), are as follows:
 Seek and value stuedents point of view
 Structure lesson to challenge students
suppositions
 Recognize that students must attach
relevance to the curriculum
 Structure lessons around big ideas, not small
bits of information
 Asses student learning in the context of daily
classroom investigation, not sparated events
