In electromagnetism and elecroni
cs, inductance is the tendency of
an electrical conductor to oppose
a change in the electric current
flowing through it.

RIGHT HAND RULE:

Where;
F= Magnetic Force
B= Magnetic Field
I= Current
“The flow of electric current creates
a magnetic field around the conductor
whose strength depends on the
magnitude of the current. Any change
in the magnet field strength, caused
by a change in current, induces
an electromotive force (EMF) in the
conductor that opposes
the voltage creating the change of
current. This is known
as electromagnetic induction, and is
described by the laws
of Faraday and Lenz. This induced
voltage in the circuit is called back
EMF, to reflect its opposing character.”

-Wikipedia
Inductance is defined as
the product of the ratio of
the induced voltage to the
rate of change of current
causing it and a
proportionality factor that
depends on the geometry
of circuit conductors and
the magnetic
permeability of nearby
materials.
