RESEARCH QUESTIONS
1. How may the speaking ability of the Grade 11 students be described in terms of
1.1 fluency;
1.2 vocabulary;
1.3 grammar; and
1.4 pronunciation?

2. How can the use of comic strips in teaching English promote ability in speaking in
terms of
2.1 linguistic competence;
2.2 pragmatic intelligence; and
2.3 cultural competence?
3. How do these interventions affect the level of performance in speaking of the Grade 11
students of Dr. Juan A. Pastor Memorial National High School?
4. What other learning interventions may be proposed?
METHODOLOGY
Research Design
This study will use the descriptive research design.
More specifically, this study will utilize quantitative
and qualitative research methods or mixed methods.
In this study, a survey will be conducted using a
researcher-made questionnaire as the main data gathering
instrument. Furthermore, more in-depth data will be
gathered through interviews with select respondents.
METHODOLOGY
Subjects of the Study
The study will be conducted among the Grade 11
students from Dr. Juan A. Pastore Memorial National
High School and the Grade 11 English teachers handling
RWS, Oral Communication, and EAPP.
Respondents will be chosen based on their
capabilities to provide the needed data for the study.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE
For the purpose of this research, a letter of permission to
conduct the research will be prepared addressed to Dr. Thelma A.
Pascua, Principal IV of Dr. Juan A. Pastor Memorial National High
School.
In case of respondents who are still minors, leers of consent
will be prepared for their parents or guardians.
The respondents will be assured that all data that will be
collected will be treated with utmost confidentiality and will only
be used for the sole purpose of this research.
DATA ANALYSIS PLAN
*For the quantitative analysis, the following statistical
treatments will be applied
1. Frequency Distribution
2. Percentage
3. Ranking
4. Weighted Mean and Composite Mean
*Data from the interviews or qualitative data will be subjected to
thematic analysis.
