 are the decision making components in modern
day software. They start with simple conclusions
such as true and false then they go on to make
the complex algebraic mathematical equations
that make up the logic board or CPU of the
computer.
In addition, the processor uses gates in
combination to perform arithmetic functions; it can
also use them to trigger the storage of data in
memory.

Logic gates operate via hardware known as a

switch – in particular, a digital switch.
Logic gates in the CPU

 There are two inputs and each gate has a single

output - so in total there are two outputs, with
four possible outcomes.
1. Boolean logic

 Boolean is one of the main data types in computer.

Boolean logic reflects the binary logic of logic gates
and transistors in a computer's CPU.

 It’s a Part of Computer Science Programming

2. Complex logic gates

 Logic gates can be built

up into chains of logical
decisions. Some logic
gates may have more
than two inputs. The
diagram below shows a
complex logic gate
combining three simple
gates.
what's the importance of Logic gates ?
 Logic gates are the bricks and mortar of digital electronics.
Inside a computer, there are almost 100 million gates through
which information passes following a set of pre-determined
protocol. These gates are made from FETs or field-effect
transistor, in particular, MOSFETS, oxide-semiconductor field-
effect transistors. These logic gates are units of the
computer’s central nervous system. Logic circuits have
devices as register, multiplexers, ALU or Arithmetic Logic Unit.

 As neurone passes electro-chemical information throughout

human body to make it tick, Logic gates conducts electronic
information throughout the computer device run it
throughout.
