Improvised Stainless

All-in-One Grinding Machine

GROUP 7
Introduction
Fruits and vegetables are outstanding sources of
micronutrients and phytochemicals. Adding it in your
diet may improve your over-all health and it will also
reduce your risk in several chronic diseases like
diabetes, heart diseases and kidney diseases.
Introduction
Food storage is a procedure in which cooked and raw
materials are stored in suitable conditions for future use
without any entry of microorganisms. It allows food to be
consumed for some time (typically weeks to months) rather
than consumed immediately.
Introduction
Grinding plays a vital role in the production of food
powders. It is considered as both end products and
raw products which is widely used in manufacturing
flour, spices and powdered fruits and vegetables.
Grinding is the process of tearing, breaking and
decreasing the size of solid materials dividing them
into smaller particles. Powders are then produced
through the process grinding
Objectives
To know its effectiveness of the improvised all-in-
one grinding machine in powdering peanut and
garlic.
To know the appearance of ground peanut and
garlic after being grinder using different types of
blades.
To know how long it will take to grind peanut and
garlic.
Statement of the Problem
How effective is the improvised all in one grinder in
powdering peanut and garlic?
What is the appearance of ground peanut and garlic after
being grinded in different types of blades?
How long does it takes to turn peanut and garlic into
smaller pieces using the different types of blades?

Collection of Materials
Stainless-steel scraps, welding rod, liso and
round bar steel will be bought at Sto. Cristo
Guimba, Nueva Ecija. The researcher will
purchased a brand-new electric fan motor, to
ensure its power, at Saranay, Guimba Nueva
Ecija
Assembly of the
prototype Grinding
machine
Body
The body is made up of stainless casserole which is
measured 18.1cm in diameter and its radius is
9.05cm. The inlet is measured 8cmx5.7cm while the
outlet is 7.5cmx5cm. The baffle is measured
7cmx5.7cm and 3.5cmx5.7. The gate is measured
5cm and the gate stopper is 11cm in length. Inside
the body, the railings’ diameter is measured 17cm
and its radius is 8.5.

Blade
Three types of blades, such as Chain blade,
Hammer blade, Round blade and Lobe blade, will be
used in the study. All blades will be made up of
stainless-steel to avoid rusting and contamination of
samples.
Spiral Blade
The spiral blade which measures 8cm in
diameter and each blade has 4cmx3.4cm
and the distance of the blades between
each other is 6cm.
Lobe Blade
The lobe blade which the radius is
measured 5.3cm and each blade is
measure 4cmx4cm while the distance of
blade from each other is 6cm
Chain Blade
The chain blade with the radius of 4cm
and the distance of each blade is 3cm.
Stand
The stand is made up of stainless foundation,
angle and flat bars to support the motor which
has length of 46cmx55.5cm, height of 39cm and
a width of 76x76cm. The tray is made up of
aluminium is measured 38.4cm by height and
27.5 by width.

Collection of Sample
Different sample such as peanuts, garlic and
peanuts were bought at Guimba Public Market
Preparation of sample
The collected sample were air dried for 16
hours to meet the moisture content that the
machine needed to grind it easily
Feeding into the machine
The air-dried samples were put into the
machine’s inlet for it to be grinded to its
different sizes accordingly.
Data Analysis
The consumed time in grinding the
samples will be recorded in unit of seconds
(s). The quality of the finish product
characterized by fine, granules and
powdered by its texture.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Table 1. Test-grinding of Peanut

Type of Blade Time

Blade 1 (Spiral Blade) 583 sec

Blade 2 (Lobe Blade) 857 sec

Blade 3 (Chain Blade) 490 sec

Table2. Test-grinding of Garlic

Type of Blade Time

Blade 1 (Spiral Blade) 170 sec

Blade 2 (Lobe Blade) 282 sec

Blade 3 (Chain Blade) 167 sec

Conclusion
The improvised all-in-one grinding machine is effective in grinding
peanuts and garlic.
Using the spiral blade the appearance of peanut is fine powder
while in the chain and lobe blade it come up into powdered
particles, however garlic become granules in chain blade while it
turn into fine particles in lobe blade and became powdered in spiral
blade.
Conclusion
Garlic took 170 seconds by using spiral blade, while
in lobe blade it took 383 seconds and 167 seconds in
chain blade. In peanut sample, it took 583 seconds in
spiral blades while 857 seconds in lobe blade and 490
seconds in chain blade
Recommendation
Try testing other kinds fruits, vegetables and spices.
Try testing different meats, like pork and beef.
To create other designs of blades.
To use other appliances that has a rotating motor
like washing machine.
