Raw Materials Manufacturing Distribution Consumers

Raw Material used for Tire Manufacture
Natural Rubber: Is found as milky liquid in the bark of the Rubber
tree.
Synthetic Rubber: It is produced from the polymer found in crude oil.
Carbon Black: It is a fine soft powder created when crude oil or
natural gas is burned with a limited amount of oxygen
Sulphur and other chemicals.
Manufacturing

Green tier placed in mould

 Mixing of Raw material to form rubber compound.

 Mixing, heating and friction are applied to soften the rubber and evenly distribute the chemicals.
 Rubber goes through rolling mills that squeeze batch into thick sheets
 These sheets are used to make the tires
 For the beads of a tire, wire bundles are formed on a wire wrapping machine
 The layers are wrapped around metal drum in tire forming machine
 The Assembler cuts and positions the strips to form different part of tier called Green Tire
 Then Green tire is placed in large mould for curing process
 Curing is the process of applying pressure in order to give tier its final shape, and applying heat
energy to stimulate the chemical reaction between the rubber and other materials.
Inspection
After Curing, each tire is thoroughly inspected for flaws like
bubbles,voids
Then tire is placed on test wheel, inflated and spun
Sensors measures the balance of the tires.
The raw materials are thoroughly checked at supplier end before
delivering to the tire plant.
Distribution
The finished tires are sent to the Auto manufacturers which are fitted
on the newly manufactured vehicle in the assembly line.
The tires are also sent to distributors for selling in after market.
These are sold through the distributor outlets to the customers.
