 The project implements a mobile platform in between the


railway tracks
PRESENT SCENARIO
INTRODUCTION

 This railway project is used to automatically close or open the mobile


platform in between the train tracks.
LITERATURE REVIEW

 Currently all the railway stations consist of staircase for moving between
platforms.
 This has been proved to be somewhat inefficient as at some places accidents due
to collapse of over bridge has occurred.
 Also the accidents due to people crossing railway tracks infront of oncoming
trains have increased rapidly.

DESIGN SPECIFICATION
1. DC MOTOR

 500 r.p.m. 12 V DC Motor with Gearbox


 1.2 kg cm Torque
 No Load Current = 60 mA (Max) ,
Load Current = 300 mA (Max)
2. DC MOTOR DRIVER

 L293D is a typical Motor Driver IC

 Act as a Current Amplifier

 Supply Voltage ranges from 5 V to 36 V


3. ATMEGA16 AVR MICROCONTROLLER

 High performance , Low Power

4. IR OBSTACLE SENSOR MODULE

 Operating Voltage ranges from 3 V to 5 V


 Detection Range from 2 cm to 30 cm (Adjustable using
Potentiometer)
 Current consumption - At 3.3 V : ~ 23 mA
- At 5.0 V : ~ 43 mA
EXPECTED OUTCOME

 The outcome is that a mobile platform can be implemented between two


platforms.
WORKS COMPLETED

 The simulation using Arduino Uno R3 has been partially completed , as


a push button switch is used instead of IR Sensor Module.
ADVANTAGES OF OUR PROJECT

 It helps elder peoples to reach the next platform without climbing the
staircase

 It will be easy for the peoples to shift there heavy luggage from one
platform to other

ENHANCEMENT
 Safety for the pedestrians .
 System is completely automated .
 The mechanism works on simple principle .
 Power supply by Solar Panels.
 The system is completely automated.
