Upcycing by Nani

• Changing global weather patterns, human-created emissions


of greenhouse gases, Rapid urbanization, Reducing Wetlands,
Pollution
• To promote environmental sustainability and reduce your
environmental impact — upcycling
• Upcycling by Nani is an initiative that supports design and
development of eco friendly products generated through waste
and recyclable material, created by Senior Citizen and
Underprivileged girls
• The products includes decoupage vases and decorative made
from waste paper and old bottles, tissue covers and pouches
made with waste cloth, books made with waste cloth and
handmade paper and pen stands, lamps etc
• The same is being used for Corporate, Diwali gifting etc

Freedom from Malnutrition

• The World Bank estimates that India is one of the highest


ranking countries in the world for the number of children
suffering from malnutrition
• More than one third of the world’s children who are wasted live
in India.
• Kids in Delhi slums eating chips, momo's, noodles on a daily
basis
• Our project has been campaigning for Nutrition in daily lives
• Dus ka Dum campaigns by students in many slums in Delhi
which include Ten rupees+ Ten minute recipes that are full of
nutrition, besides taking sessions on Organic vegetable
growing
• Questioning corporates on how they are contributing to the
Nutriton story in India and understanding collabrative solutions

Diversity and Discrimination

• Caste , Religion and Class based oppression happens in India


every 15 minutes; crimes against women every transgender
face sexual abuse, LGBTQA discrimination Body shaming,
Access to education, Bullying in school; only 0.1 million
disabled are employed
• Discrimination in Urban India has been growing at a
subconscious level
• Our students researched , and created a social media
campaign against day to ay discrimination
• Scout and pout campaign- Mainstreaming Transgenders
• Soch- Short film on this subject - researched by students,
directed by 14 year old on the subject Diversity and
Inclusiveness-to be released soon

• United Nations Population Fund has said the


population of elderly people in India will triple by
2050, most of them Digitally helpless
• Digital Literacy campaign by students
• Uber, Paytm, Google, sending emails, Amazon
firestick, Netflix ,Skype, Youtube ,Cash on Delivery,
order online
• Pick up and drop services
• Presentation on Govt schemes that can help them
with stable income patterns
• Giving Vegetable seeds for growing healthy
vegetables
• Creating a pipeline of work they can be involved in

Way Forward

• Building a movement to Integrate with Education in India


• Inspiring citizens with a stronger sense of purpose
• Orienting the upcoming generation towards SDG's- Collabrate with UN
• Preparing the low income groups for the Artificial Intelligence era – significantly different
jobs, online space and required skills
• Back to Basics- Self sustainable & environmentally friendly model of living
