PROBLEM STATEMENT = 65 mm
From ergonomic perspective, there are several key issues pertinent to (5th perc women)
issues related to the current batik stamp design as follows:
2. Stress distribution analysis using FEA (Solidwork)
• the handle position creates ulnar and
palmar deviation
• the handle design provides minimal contact
surface for hand grip
• the mass of the batik stamp is sometimes too
heavy for repetitive stamping work Experimentally determined mechanical
Boundary conditions
properties of FDM printed ABS (ASTM D368)
In addition, the fabrication process for batik stamp is also time
consuming and laborious.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this study are:
• To design a new batik stamp which incorporate ergonomic
approaches related to hand tool applications
• To evaluate the effect of stamp design on stress distribution using Max Von Mises stress = 0.1366MPa Safety factor = 53.76
FEA (Solidwork) 3. Mass, print duration and cost analysis
