 Tony used to work in a company called
O’Grady. Tony worked for 10 years at
O’Grady and he was doing great at O’Grady
but unfortunately, he lost his job company
was shutting down his operation group in
cost cutting.
 Because of his experience and
recommendations from O’Grady he did
manage to get a job at Reece Enterprises.
 Tony is in an emotional and professional
disparity while comparing his current job at
Reece to his old job at O’Grady.
 O’Grady didn’t only give Tony a chance to
grow professionally it also gave him a chance
to develop as a person.
 His previous job gave him autonomy and
freedom in work whereas in his current job
was comparatively more structured but didn’t
gave him any freedom in his work.
 He preferred Rewards based upon
performance rather than on the basis of
duration of time served in the company.
 Tony seemed also unhappy with the
behaviour of his colleagues at Reece as they
weren’t friendly.
 Apparently, Tony is not sure about his
decision over joining Reece Enterprises.
 Tony worked in O’Grady Company for the last
ten years where he enjoyed the decentralized
system in which the employees were given
the power of making decisions.
 At O’Grady, the employees were given
freedom related to their work and
responsibilities.
 O’Grady, motivated its employees through
promotions and pay increase through their
efforts and recognition.
 The reward system of Reece Enterprise was
based on the duration of the person on a
particular job and his political activities in the
company.
 The working environment of Reece Enterprise
was not friendly as many of the colleagues
did not accept newcomers who were
appointed for the same position.
 Top managers were only being concerned
about work being done or who did a good
job.
 Requirement of three signatures over
documents made the whole process slow.
 As Tony has just finished his first week on
Reece Enterprise, he should try giving more
time to the company.
 At first not every person is able to create
trust and loyalty among the colleagues, it
takes time building relationship with the
fellow employees.
 He should further try talking to the higher
authority and with the people who are not
getting along with the culture for bringing
organizational change.
 On a personal note we would like to suggest
Tony Stark to try to find the common interest
between the workers so that his presence can
be made feel into the organization also, he
won’t be considered as outsider.
 Changes are always hard for everyone to
except.
 He should try to help people with their work
whenever possible and required.
 This way he can gain trust and a sense of
belongingness in the firm.
 It is also not possible to find a workplace that
will be completely ideal for any one person at
all times.
 However, it is certainly possible for us as
individuals to find a workplace that will be
close to ideal for us and that will allow us to
remain motivated in our work.
 The definition of ideal itself vary from person
to person, ( promotion, friendly environment,
high wages, innovations etc)
 Change is important and organizations if do
not change, cannot survive in this world.
 No work place is ideal for everyone. Career is
persistent.
 An employee should always change himself
according to the circumstance and develop
his skills, calibre and knowledge to meet the
change.
 He should be mentally prepared for change
to cope up with during the transition Phase.
