PROJECT WORK

 Project is divided into two parts:

a) Design and simulation of classical Direct Torque Control

b) Design and simulation of ANN based Direct Torque Control

to reduce Torque ripples

INTRODUCTION

Induction motors are used due to higher efficiency, less inertia,

smaller volume and lower cost

 DTC - the torque and flux are directly controlled by using the
selection of optimum voltage vectors

 Switching logic control- generation of the stator voltage space

vector

 Due to some drawbacks in DTC we choose ANN techniques

1/6/2020 EEE,IESCE 5
ANNs- desired mapping between the inputs and outputs signals of
the system without knowing the exact mathematical model of the
system

ANNs are excellent estimators in non linear systems

ANN AS SELECTOR FOR DTC

 Effective use of all active states per sector

 ANN is used to perform the state selector of DTC

 Back propagation algorithm is used to train the

network

 ANN is used here to show the potential of artificial

intelligence in AC drives

1/6/2020 EEE,IESCE 26
CONCLUSION

 Sluggish responses in both start up and changes in

either flux or torque

 Increased torque ripple

 Due to this drawbacks ANN scheme preferred

 Switching logic is replaced by ANN
