Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ;
it is no longer I who live, but Christ
lives in me; and the life which I now
live in the flesh I live by faith in the
Son of God, who loved me and gave
Himself for me.

John 3:16
For God The Greatest Giver
So loved The Greatest Motive
The world The Greatest Number
That He gave The Greatest Act
His only begotten Son The Greatest Gift
That whosoever The Greatest Invitation
Believeth in Him The Greatest Opportunity
Should not Perish The Greatest Deliverance
But have everlasting life. The Greatest Joy
Salvation

It is the deliverance from evil,

danger, or trouble. It is God’s gift,
through Christ, to save men’s souls.

Justification (Past)
Sanctification (Present)
Glorification (Future)
Repentance
Repentance
Hebrew Greek
• “Nachum” • “Metanoeo”
• To be sorry • To change one’s mind
• To repent • To feel remorse
• To repent
Proverbs 28:13
13 He who covers his sins will not
prosper, But whoever confesses and
forsakes them will have mercy.
Steps to Christ
Repentance includes sorrow for sin and
a turning away from it. We shall not
renounce sin unless we see its sinfulness;
until we turn away from it in heart, there
will be no real change in the life.
Psalm 51:3-4, 10
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions,
And my sin is always before me. 4 Against
You, You only, have I sinned, And done this
evil in Your sight—That You may be found
just when You speak, And blameless when
You judge. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O
God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Motivation for Repentance
Romans 2:4
Or do you despise the riches of His
goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering,
not knowing that the goodness of God leads
you to repentance?
Steps to Christ
Conviction takes hold upon the mind and
heart. The sinner has a sense of the
righteousness of Jehovah and feels the terror of
appearing, in his own guilt and uncleanness,
before the Searcher of hearts. He sees the love of
God, the beauty of holiness, the joy of purity; he
longs to be cleansed and to be restored to
communion with Heaven.
Romans 5:8-10
8 But God demonstrates His own
love toward us, in that while we were
still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much
more then, having now been justified by
His blood, we shall be saved from wrath
through Him. 10 For if when we were
enemies we were reconciled to God
through the death of His Son, much
more, having been reconciled, we shall
be saved by His life.
Justification
Justification
Dikaiosis Dikaioo
• Justification. • Be pronounced and
• Vindication. treated as righteous.
• Acquittal. • Be acquitted.
• Be justified.
• Be set free, made pure.
Justification

The divine act by which God

declares a penitent sinner righteous or
regard him as righteous. It is the
opposite of condemnation.
Romans 5:18, 19
18 Therefore, as through one man’s
offense judgment came to all men, resulting
in condemnation, even so through one
Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all
men, resulting in justification of life. 19 For
as by one man’s disobedience many were
made sinners, so also by one Man’s
obedience many will be made righteous.
Zechariah 3:1, 3-4
1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest
standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan
standing at his right hand to oppose him. 3 Now
Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and
was standing before the Angel. 4 Then He
answered and spoke to those who stood before
Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from
him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed
your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you
with rich robes.”
Christ our Salvation (pg. 47)
The undeserving repentant believer,
however, is dressed with the imputed
righteousness of Christ. This exchange of
clothes, this divine, saving transaction, is
the Biblical doctrine of Justification.
Role of Faith and Works
Misconceptions about Faith and Works

Salvation through Faith without

works works
Grace
Old Testament New Testament
• “Found favor/grace in • The unmerited gift of
the eyes of” (Gen. 6:8) God’s love and favor to
man.
• It is particularly made
effective in Jesus Christ
for the Christian.
Ephesians 1:7
7 In Him we have redemption
through His blood, the forgiveness of
sins, according to the riches of His grace
Faith
It is the belief in someone or
something. Among Christians, it is the
belief in the Holy Trinity.
Hebrews 11:1-3
1 Now faith is the substance of things
hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good
testimony. 3 By faith we understand that
the worlds were framed by the word of
God, so that the things which are seen were
not made of things which are visible.
Works
It is an individual’s deeds or efforts,
whether it be good or bad.
Ephesians 2:8, 9
8 For by grace you have been saved
through faith, and that not of
yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of
works, lest anyone should boast.
2 Timothy 1:9
who has saved us and called us with a
holy calling, not according to our
works, but according to His own
purpose and grace which was given to
us in Christ Jesus before time began,
Romans 4:3, 9, 10
3 For what does the Scripture say? Abraham
believed God, and it was accounted to him for
righteousness. 9 Does this blessedness then come
upon the circumcised only, or upon the
uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was
accounted to Abraham for righteousness. 10
How then was it accounted? While he was
circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while
circumcised, but while uncircumcised.
James 2:21-24
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by
works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
22 Do you see that faith was working together
with his works, and by works faith was made
perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which
says, “Abraham believed God, and it was
accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was
called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a
man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
Therefore the faith that
leads to justification is a
living faith that works.
Sanctification
Sanctification
Hebrew Greek
• “Qadash” • “Hagiazo”
• To separate from • To make holy.
common use. • To consecrate.
• To sanctify.
• To set apart.
Sanctification

The process to make one holy. This is

the continuous working of the Holy Spirit
in the lives of believers in order for them to
remain holy or sanctified.
Justification Sanctification
What God does for us. What God does in us.
1 Thessalonians 4:7
For God did not call us to
uncleanness, but in holiness.
Titus 3:5
not by works of righteousness which
we have done, but according to His
mercy He saved us, through the washing
of regeneration and renewing of the
Holy Spirit,
Ephesians 3:16, 17
16 that He would grant you, according to
the riches of His glory, to be strengthened
with might through His Spirit in the inner
man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your
hearts through faith; that you, being rooted
and grounded in love,
John 14:16, 17
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will
give you another Helper, that He may abide
with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth,
whom the world cannot receive, because it
neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you
know Him, for He dwells with you and will
be in you.
John 16:7, 8
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to
your advantage that I go away; for if I do not
go away, the Helper will not come to you; but
if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And
when He has come, He will convict the
world of sin, and of righteousness, and of
judgment:
John 16:13
However, when He, the Spirit of truth,
has come, He will guide you into all truth;
for He will not speak on His own authority,
but whatever He hears He will speak; and
He will tell you things to come.
Galatians 5:22-25
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.
Against such there is no law. 24 And those
who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh
with its passions and desires. 25 If we live
in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Romans 6:17, 18
17 But God be thanked that though you
were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the
heart that form of doctrine to which you
were delivered. 18 And having been set
free from sin, you became slaves of
righteousness.

Glorification
Glorification
The state of high honor and praise in
the context of worship wherein Jesus is
glorified. It is the divine transformation
God will do in His people, from the sinful
to glorified nature.
Matthew 24:30, 31
30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will
appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the
earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man
coming on the clouds of heaven with power and
great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a
great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather
together His elect from the four winds, from one
end of heaven to the other.
Matthew 25:31-33
31 “When the Son of Man comes in His
glory, and all the holy angels with Him,
then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
32 All the nations will be gathered before
Him, and He will separate them one from
another, as a shepherd divides his sheep
from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep
on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
1 Corinthians 15:51-53
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall
not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at
the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound,
and the dead will be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed. 53 For this
corruptible must put on incorruption, and
this mortal must put on immortality.
Philippians 3:13, 14
13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider
myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one
thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and
straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press
on toward the goal to win the prize for
which God has called me heavenward in
Christ Jesus.
Revelation 22:12

And behold, I am coming

quickly, and My reward is with Me,
to give to every one according to
his work.
2 Corinthians 6:2
For He says: “In an acceptable time I
have heard you, And in the day of
salvation I have helped you.” Behold,
now is the accepted time; behold, now is
the day of salvation.
