POLLUTION

By: Russell
Agoncillo
* Pollution is the addition of unwarted/harmful substances to environment.

* Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse
change. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy, such as noise, heat
or light.

* Pollution, the components of pollution, can either foreign substances/energies or naturally

occurring contaminants.

* Pollution is often classed as point source or nonpoint source pollution in 2015, pollution killed
9 million people in the wrold.
* Air pollution
* Light pollution
* Littering
* Noise pollution
* Soil contamination
* Radioactive
* Thermal pollution
* Water pollution
* There are many sources/causes of air pollution.
They main factors are shown along side.

Sources:
* Factories 50%
* Vehicles 25%
* Cigarattes 15%
* Other 10%
* Light pollution, also known as photo pollution, is the
presence of anthropogenic and artificial light in the
night environment. It is exacerbated by excessive,
misdirected or obtrusive uses of light, but even
carefully used light fundamentally alters natural
conditions.
* It is a human impact on the environment and
remains a serious environmental issue in many
countries. Litter can exist in the environment for long
periods of time before degrading and be transported
over large distances into the world's oceans. Litter
can affect the quality of life.
* Noise pollution is generally defined as regular
exposure to elevated sound levels that may lead to
adverse effects in humans or other living organisms.
... workplace sounds, often common in open-space
offices. constant loud music in or near commercial
venues. industrial sounds like fans, generators,
compressor, mills.
* Soil contamination or soil pollution as part of land
degradation is caused by the presence of xenobiotics
(human-made) chemicals or other alteration in the
natural soil environment. It is typically caused by
industrial activity, agricultural chemicals or improper
disposal of waste.
* Isotopes that are unstable, meaning they have an
imbalance of neutrons and protons are radioactive.
They release this extra energy and over time
radioactively decay to a stable isotope. Radioactive
materials occur naturally but are also man-made.
* Thermal pollution is the degradation of water quality
by any process that changes ambient water
temperature. A common cause of thermal pollution is
the use of water as a coolant by power plants and
industrial manufacturers.
* Water pollution is the contamination of water
bodies, usually as a result of human activities. Water
bodies include for example lakes, rivers, oceans,
aquifers and groundwater. Water pollution results
when contaminants are introduced into the natural
environment.
