Garbage in , garbage out.

What is Garbage?
Garbage is a waste material discarded by humans, The term
generally does not encompass bodily waste products , purely
liquid or solid wastes.
Garbage may be in the form of fruit or vegetable peels, discarded
chemicals and fertilizers washed into rivers, domestic sewage, etc.
Disposal of Garbage

1. Vermicomposting
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
4. Landfill
Vermicomposting
There is also a different kind of composting where a kind of
earthworm called red worms act on wastes and degrade them.
This type of composting with the help of a type of earthworms
called red worms, is called vermicomposting. Red worms break
down the organic matter into nutrient-rich manure which increases
soil fertility.
Reuse
We can reuse certain things for more thon one purpose. If we
reuse them for other purposes, we can help in reducing the waste.
Here are 2 tips for reusing things.
1.Small jars and bottles can be cleaned to keep some other
kitchen stuffs.
2.Old clothes can be made into other usable items such as
cushion cover and handkerchief.
Recycle
The process by which waste materials are used to make new
products is called recycling. Materials such as glass, metal, plastic,
and paper are collected, separated , and recycled to make new
things. Chor Bazaars and scrapyards of our country have been
recycling smaller to larger products for a long time.
Landfill
Large areas used for waste disposal are called landfills. Landfill is
another method to manage huge amount of biodegradable as well
as non-biodegradable wastes . Garbage buried inside landfills stay
here for a long time as it decomposes very slowly.
Types of waste

There are two wastes – dry waste as blue bins and wet wastes as
green bins

1. Dry waste
2. Wet waste
Dry waste
Blue bins are for recyclable wastes such as glass bottles , plastic
wastes, old batteries , chocolate wrappers, and polythene bags.
Wet waste
Green bins are for biodegradable wastes such as vegetables and
fruit peels, spoilt food, tea leaves, egg shells, tissue paper, leaves,
and hair.
Plastics
Plastic is a material consisting of any of a wide range of synthetic
or semi-synthetic organic compounds and this the only reason why
plastic is harming the environment.
How does plastic harm us?
Pollution is the accumulation of plastic objects. Plastics are
inexpensive and durable, and as a result levels of plastic
production is very high. Plastic pollution affects seas, land etc.
Humans also face dieseses due to plastic pollution.
How does garbage affect us?
One of the outcomes of overflowing garbage is air pollution,
which causes various respiratory diseases. The toxic substances in
air contaminated by waste include carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide
and methane.

Now we will present a activity.

Facts
1. The average American throws away more than 7 pounds of
garbage a day.
2. Glass takes one million years to decompose in a landfill.
3. One average person generates 4 pounds of trash every day.
