FIXTURES
INTRODUCTION
 Store fixtures are the most important
element of any retail store’s décor. It is
significantly important to have them in
almost any type of retail store. These
fixtures help in keeping the products put on
sale in an organized manner. Apart from this
store fixtures also help in creating a
customer-friendly display to attract more
potential customers.
 Especially for apparel stores, it is important
to have the best and new age apparel racks
and fixtures.
 Individual products on display are like
individual letters of the alphabet. Alone, they
mean little, but when organized into a
pattern and made easily identifiable, they
tell story.
 Customers who can see, touch, hear, taste,
or smell a product will become more
involved and committed to it.
DISPLAY FIXTURE MATERIAL
 Displayfixtures may be constructed of
almost any material. Glass,wood,and plastic
or metal laminate are commonly used
because they are relatively easy to
construct into the many different shapes
required for display.
 Thedesign of display fixtures offers great freedom of
expression,but the designer must present the product
properly in order to attract shoppers.
 The designer may use either stock or
custom-designed and built store fixtures.
Stock fixtures are available for almost every
type of case a store might require and are
usually, but not always,less expensive than
custom-built cases.
 Custom fixtures can also provide creative
display solutions for small or unusually
configured stores.
CUSTOM WALL DISPLAY
 Premium-and custom-grade cabinets use higher-quality
materials and construction than do economy-grade cases.
 Wood-finished display fixtures are warm, rich, and durable.
They cost about the same as plastic laminate finishes, and so
the decision to use one or the other becomes one of
aesthetics and durability.
 Hardwoods are traditional and may be used
successfully to display almost any product that
requires a conservative look.

 Laminates may be bent to form curved shapes.
 Glass used in the top or sides of the fixtures
displays products while limiting access. Glass can
also be used for cabinet doors, shelves, or the
structural material of the cases .

 Softwoods such as pine and fir are used to create fixtures with
a more casual appearance. Softwoods can be painted, stained,
or finished with clear varnishes.

DISPLAY FIXTURE CONSTRUCTION
 Display cabinets with doors can be finished with a
variety of detailing tech-niques.
 Swinging-door hinges may be either exposed or
concealed.
 European-style concealed hinges, which can be
surface mounted, are easier to install but are more
expensive and not as strong as "invisible" hinges.
 This solid hinged panel hides the inner parts of the cam lock
normally exposed through the glass doors. Drawers require
glide hardware and pulls. Drawer glides are rated according to
load capacity, mounting, and extension.
 DISPLAY COMPONENTS
 Many stock components can be used to
display merchandise effectively, including a
variety of adjustable brackets and standards
for product support.

 The bracket may be attached and relocated vertically anywhere
on the standard. Various attachments, which permit these
systems to be used for wood or glass shelves and as hang-rod
