heavier ceiling panels like veneers and classical ceramic ceiling tiles and lighting devices such as chandeliers.
CEILING
SUSPENDED CEILING :WOOD CONSTRUCTION
However, due to its weight, wooden ceiling frames have become less popular especially with the advent of
light metal framing for ceiling. Professional builders also pointed out that ceilings should be a lesser
contributor to dead load of the building.
CEILING
SUSPENDED CEILING :ACOUSTICAL CEILING
A ceiling of acoustical tile or other sound absorbing material.

Ceiling designs that are plain and flat – and are usually between 2.4m to 2.7m high and can fit with typical
construction material sizing. Although more readily accessible, a room can feel closed-in if the ceilings are too
low. Upgrading its material can make flat ceilings more interesting and delicate to look at.
CEILING
TRAY/RECESSED CEILINGS
Are multi-level ceilings – they start from one height, then drop as you add levels. The central part of the
ceiling is higher than the rest of the portion of the ceiling.

Classical tray ceilings are framed with cornices, carvings and moldings per level to enhance borders,
giving a framed effect.
CEILING

overall interior design. It also highlights the center light or chandelier if it contains one.
CEILING
TRAY/RECESSED CEILINGS

or use different materials.
CEILING
TRAY/RECESSED CEILINGS

Contemporary tray ceiling have grooves the run along the periphery of the tray’s recess and holds LED
strip lights or tube lights so as to create a dramatic effect where the source of illumination is not visible.
CEILING
TRAY/RECESSED CEILINGS

Others install a reversed platform of different material or painted with different colors for accents, creating
a channel effect which is sometimes lighted with LED strips.
CEILING
TRAY/RECESSED CEILINGS

Neo-classical tray ceilings are tray ceilings with classical elements such as cornices and moldings,
dropped from the flat portion of the ceiling to create a channel or groove where light sources like LED
strips are kept from eyesight, creating a dramatic effect of contemporary light methods.
CEILING
TRAY/RECESSED CEILINGS

Tray ceilings can also be polygonal or contoured with the segments of the floorplan just like the examples
above.
