3. How does the little creatures/animals
respond to Popocatepetl’s request for
food?
- The little creatures did not respond to
Popocatepetl’s request for food, instead they
ignore him and leave his place. The little
creatures betrayed Popocatepetl because they
promised to help him but they never did.
4. What does the little animal
promise to Popocatepetl? Does he
keep his promise?
- The little animal promise him that
his giving Popocatepetl a wing and
he didn't keep his promise.
5. Why do you think the little
animal made a promise?
- the little animal made a promise
because he has ulterior motive
which is to dwell permanently
around Popocatepetl.
6. How does Popocatepetl react
with to the little animal’s broken
promise? How did he express his
anger?
- Popocatepetl is upset and angry to
the broken promise of the little
animal he expresses his anger
through roaring his voice because of
disappointment.
7. How can you relate the story to
your everyday experience? Give
specific situation, mentioned in
the story which you can relate to
your life as an individual, as a
member of your family, and
society as a whole?
- In modern society, you can put this in a
company's perspective - where the boss is the
mountain, while the little animal are the
workers. If the boss has too many demands,
the little animals can just get out of the
company to find a better way to work. In terms
of family, you can say that if there is
cooperation, aside from ordering family
members, then the family can become a better
team with good relationships to each other.
8. What event/entity in the story do you
find most significant? Why?
- the first event where Popocatepetl
experience hunger. Because the story
started during his hunger and a little
animal told him that he needed wings but
then, the little animal didn’t kept his
promise.
The moral lesson of the story The
Voice of the Mountain , is that you
should never easily trust strangers
just because somebody else said
good words about them. This
happens to Popocatepetl, his trust
to the little creatures has given
him nothing but disappointment.
