Sustainable development is a way for
people to use resources without the
resources running out. It means doing
development without damaging or
affecting the environment.

The term used by the Brundtland


Commission defined it as development with
sustainable that meets the needs of the
present without compromising the ability
of future generations to meet their own
needs.
TOWARD A SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT
Throughout the entire
world, humanity is facing
a serious environmental
challenge. Part of this
problem is population
increase, which is a
greatest in poor societies.
But part of the problem
is also high levels of
consumption.

Ecologically sustainable culture it is a way of life
that meets the needs of the present generation
without threatening the environmental legacy of
future generations:

1. The world needs to bring population growth


under control

2. Conservation of finite resources

3. Reducing waste
FOOD SUSTAINABLE
Often described by food air miles, but it is
whole more complicated than that. The
sustainable of food includes consideration
of resource usage, environmental impact,
agricultural practices, and health
consideration as well as social and
economic impact.
Factors of Food Sustainable

1. Sustainable farming practices promotes organic and low


carbon food production

2. Low environmental impact refers to the minimal use of the


earths resources

3. Upholding animal welfare

4. Protection of public health

5. Good employment practices and community support


FOOD SECURITY
Exist when all people at all
lines have physical, social, and
economic access to sufficient,
safe and nutritious food which
meets their dietary needs and
food preferences for an active
and health life

INSECURE: The USDA
reported that 14.5%of
American households where
food insecure were food
insecure at least time during
2010.
FOOD SECURITY
- Is more difficult to measure. In 1999,The
FAO estimated that over 1.2 billion people
where chronically food insecure
(undernorished).

Factors Behind Lack of Food and
Food Insecurity:
there are many complex reasons of food insecurity .poverty is
undeniably the driving factor and the lack of resources to buy food
but the root causes of poverty are multifaceted.
