Fly ash concrete:

30% to 40 % of cement usage can replaced if we add fly ash

into the mixture along with cement.
Some benefits are following.
• Enhance hydration time.
• Cold weather resistance
• Great workability
• Reduces CO2 emissions
The CO2 associated with Portland cement manufacturing falls
into 3 categories:
• CO2 derived from de-carbonation of limestone.
• CO2 from kiln fuel combustion.
• CO2 produced by vehicles in cement plants and
distribution.
Calculation:
As a result of these measures, the general rule is that the creation of one ton of
cement releases one ton of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Carbon emission:

Quantity of cement replaced by fly ash = 1454.91 bags

Quantity of fly ash in kg=1454*50 = 72700 kg
Quantity of fly ash in ton =72700/1000= 72.7 ton
1 ton cement manufacturing=1 ton of CO2 emission.
Reduced carbon emission by reducing the manufacturing of cement and
its use on site =72.7 ton (carbon emission reduced)
fly ash bricks:
62% fly ash

8% Lime

5% Gypsum

25% Quarry Dust

Flooring material:
 The oldest trees are harvested and used.
 None of them bear fruit at 60 – 80 years old, which means that
they would be dying soon anyway.
 Unlike other types of wood that are harvested for production,
coconut trees grow rapidly within only a few years. Usually the
trees take 5-6 years to become ready to bear fruit, which is
great for producers of sustainable lumber.
 These two factors help the sustainability aspect of coconut
palm for use in the house for flooring or other aspects of the
house.
 Coconut trees have no annual growth rings, rays, heartwood
or branches, meaning that coconut timber is free from knots
and other such imperfections.
Properties:

 Made with 100% reclaimed plantation grown coconut palm trees

 Fire resistance classification: Class B, Test surface burning in
accordance with ASTM E84
 IEQc4.4: Low-Emitting Materials (No Added Urea Formaldehyde: Ply
boo Pure)
 Custom sizes of planks
 Weight varies per plank and can be custom ordered.
Calculations:
 Total floor area of basement where wood panel install=6534 ft^2
 Total floor area of ground floor where wood panel install=5634 ft^2
 Total floor area of 1st floor where wood panel install=3918 ft^2
 Total floor area=6534+5634+3918=16086 ft^2
 Dimension of 1 wood pellet=1.5’ x 0.5’
 No of wood pellet install on floor=16086 / 1.5’x0.5’ =21448 panels
 For water proofing of wooden floor we use BEHR PREMIUM epoxy
 For floor water proofing, area is=16086 ft^2
 According to calculator

 =
Carbon emission reduction:

 Using engineered wood I-joists with an OSB sub-floor rather than steel joists
and OSB sub-flooring results in 22 pounds of avoided CO2 emissions for
every square foot of floor area.
 Carbon emission reduction vs marble for 1sqft floor area=22 pounds
 Total carbon emission reduction if we use wood=16086 x 22 =353892 lb

SELECTING LOW EMITTING MATERIALS

 Such material are low volatile organic compounds. So, We choose to

purchase the Certified products that have been tested and certified for
low chemical emissions.
 We have applied, in our building, paints and coatings that do not make the
indoor air quality poor and irritating for the inhabitants
 These materials do not release any smell that may cause irriation
PROPERTIES

 They do not release significant pollutants into the indoor environment.

 They reduce the symptoms of sick building syndrome, including headaches,
fatigue, eye and respiratory irritation, dizziness, and other symptoms.
 They reduce pollution of natural waterways.
 And they improve worker safety and health.
PAINTS FOR WALLS

 For interior walls we have applied Nippon paint having Matt finish type.

 For kitchens walls we used Deluxe paints with Matt finish type because it
has higher resistance to a place surrounded by more heat as compared to
other areas of a building.
CALCULATION

 Total wall area of basement which has to be painted = 16760 ft^2

 Total wall area of ground floor which has to be painted = 22460 ft^2
 Total wall area of 1st floor which has to be painted = 18290 ft^2
 Total inner wall area = 16760 + 22460 + 18290 = 57510 ft^2
 One gallon covers = 400 ft ^2
 Total no of gallons of paint = 144
