Replacing HW Units
Replacing HW Units
An alarm marked with two asterisks does not threaten the operation of
the system. However, if the fault occurs during working hours, it must
** be corrected at once. If the fault occurs outside working hours, it can
be corrected the next day
Alarms marked with three asterisks require immediate action from the
user. An alarm like this is set when the system has become faulty to
*** the extent that some essential functionality of the system has
stopped, or is in danger of stopping. The maintenance personnel must
take immediate action

– O&M over IP
▪ The O&M interface (Q3 interface) is the interface between NetAct and the mcBSC
▪ The implementation of this interface is based on the O&M framework of the ITU-T and the
International Standards Organization (ISO)
▪ Physical interface used is Ethernet

COMMAND EXECUTED
1. User creates gateway BCXU unit and PCUM unit with ZWTU MML command
2. User configures IP addresses for gateway BCXU and PCUM with ZQRN MML
command
3. User configures messaging interface configuration with ZD2C MML
• Example: ZD2C:P:BCXU,1::PCUM,0;
4. PCUM’s DHCP client sends DHCP discovery to DHCP server
5. PCUM’s DMX post office establishes DMX messaging connection to the gateway
BCXU
COMMAND EXECUTED
1. User connects hosting signaling BCXU and PCUM with ZD3C MML
▪ Example: ZD3C:PCUM,0:BCXU,1:;
▪ Command is given only to those BCXU/PCUMs, which will be moved to WO-EX
state
2. Platform creates automatically a logical PCU index for PCUM.
3. Platform changes state of connected BCXU and PCUM from SP to WO
4. Platform sends a notification to application about hosting signaling BCXU-PCUM
association creation
