MY COMMUNITY

• I live in the municipality of

Saá nchez located in the
Province of Samanaá which
is very picturesque and
people of beautiful
culture.
GEOGRAPHY
• The municipality of Saá nchez is part of
the Samanaá Province, located in the
northeast region of the country
commonly called the Cibao by
Dominicans. This once was a busy port
with steam train service to La Vega, but
now it is a quiet community which is not
very large, but luckily we live in
harmony and peace.
 Descriotion of my community
• My community has numerous civic associations and institutions that
provide service to the community, for example I can mention the
following: The fire station, the police station, the public hospital and
clinics, the Red Cross, the Fishermen's Association, etc.. We also have
municipal workers responsible for keeping our streets clean. My
community has many stories including having the country’s first
bank, there are a collection of historic Victorian houses made of wood
and again many years ago there was a steam train that traveled
backwards and forwards between the Saá nchez sea port to La Vega
which was called canñ itas and nowadays bears as name Saá nchez.
