ABSTRACT

► The use of electric energy in the malls, buildings, airports, transportation

and stations is increasing Day by day.
► solar escalator is one attempt to use the solar energy for efficient energy
conservation
► The impacts of energy savings can become a driving factor for economic
growth and development.
► The solar escalator consist of human detector sensor it is advanced for
technology smooth acceleration and energy conservation during this is
periode almost half.
► The use of automatic Light of system increases the efficiency of escalator.
sensor for tracking Solar panel is connected so panels are continuously
placed towards the direction of the Sun and more energy can be store.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

● The small contribution to solving environmental issues, contributing

to the reduction of Electric energy with the help of using solar
energy.
● The fuel use for generation of electricity in thermal power plant
like as coal, diesel, that produces high amount of harmful
polluntants in the environment .
● It is an important issue to Reduce the energy required from
escalator which is an indispensable in an urban life.
● Electricity prices are increasing so the more demand for energy
efficient technology is increasing .

INTRODUCTION

◘ An escalator is a moving staircase for transporting people between floors of a

building. It is generally agreed that an escalator is the most efficient means to
move large numbers of people between floors.
◘ The solar escalator consist of solar panel with sensor connected to it to track
the direction of sun and move as per the direction having capacity to charge
12v DC battery.
◘ The lithium ion battery is use to store the solar energy.
◘ Human detector sensor it is advanced technology for smooth acceleration,
helps to minimize the power consumption during this time escalator reduces
its speed from normal speed, switching into low-speed mode Consumption in
this mode is usually close to half of the consumption during the normal
5
operating mode.

3. Lutfi Al- Electrically The main benefit of intelligent braking

based systems is that they can reduce or even
Sharif intelligent eliminate the risk of passenger falls
escalator arising from unplanned stops. They also
braking offer the potential benefit to
system differentiate in the stopping distance

4. L. Ryan . The effect of variable power

The multiple consumption of each passenger on the
and N. benefits of 5-minute average power profile has
Campbell energy been calculated and turned out to be
efficiency insignificant in contrast to the fixed
power consumption. In the case of a
continuously moving escalator.

the fixed power consumption would be

constant and power consumption profile
is shaped with the variable consumption
component, which basically depends on
the amount of passengers.

FUTURE SCOPE
1. The disc of the rim can be optimized for material saving using the work done.
2. The shape of the rim cross section can be made easier to manufacturer.
3. With proper structural analysis we can use different arrangement of cooling
holes provided on the disc.
