New Assessment Pattern

Grade 3-8
CBSE Notification
 As per the new guidelines of CBSE, (Circular
No.: Acad- 05 /2017 Date: 31/01/2017) the
examination pattern has been remodeled
from this academic session, 2017-18.

 The CCE pattern of evaluation will no


longer be continued from this session.
(2017-18)
Scholastic Assessment
 An academic session has been divided
into two terms.

 Exams will be conducted twice a year at


the end of each term, in the months of
September and March.
Testing units in each Term

 Periodic Test
 Subject Enrichment Activities
 Notebook Maintenance
 Half Yearly or Yearly Exam
Periodic Tests
 Two periodic tests in a year
 One periodic test in each term
 Term 1 – July
Term 2 - January
 Periodic test will be for 50 marks
 Portion for periodic test would be the
syllabus covered till that date
 The marks of the periodic test would be
brought down to 10 marks,
 Periodic test carries a weightage of 10%
Subject Enrichment Activities
 These are subject specific activities
 To enhance the understanding skill of
students
 Activities carried out throughout the
term will be evaluated.
 Subject Enrichment activities carry a
weightage of 5%.
Notebook maintenance
 Is a part of internal assessment
 Aimed at enhancing seriousness of students
towards preparing and maintaining notes
 Aspects that would be considered
 Regularity - assignments
 Punctuality- timely submission
 Upkeep – All round Neatness
 Note Book Maintenance carries a weightage
of 5%.

Half Yearly Exam
 Month- September
 Portion- Complete syllabus covered
till September.
 Marks - 80

from grade 5 onwards.

Unit Tests
 Every term has one unit test.
 These are practice tests.
 Marks of unit test do not impact the
report card.
