Application
Neural networks are used in the Face ID feature in iphone.
Problem
It was used to substitute the Touch ID feature in
iPhones. It allows the user to unlock the phone,
make payments, and use several features of
some apps. It can recognize the user even when
wearing hats, glasses, makeup and after shaving.
Technique
When you configure FaceID, the cellphone will take and image of
you with an infrared camera at the same time a dot projector
project 30, 000 dots on your face. Then, the image go through a
neural network that confirms if you are trying to unlock the
cellphone or is someone else.

They developed the A11/A22 Bionic neural engine to process all

this algorithms.

Theory: Apple may have collected a large dataset from the image
gallery and with them they trained the neural networks.
Results
Apple says it has an accuracy of 1 to 1, 000, 000. And
the IPhone user can unlock his phone and many other
processes that need authorization only with his face
without a worry.

This technology and the Emotient IA may help to

detect how the user feel.
