Matter
• The term matter refers to
anything that occupies space
and has mass
• A proton is matter.
• In general, I would define matter
as anything that is made up of
discrete particles that is not anti-
matter. Usually matter is
associated with particles that
have rest-mass.
Material
• Material refers to large-scale
structures (composed of matter)
with a specific atomic or
molecular configuration.
• Silk is a material.
• Material has multiple definitions
but probably the most common
usage typically refers to the raw
material that a person works
with in their trade or job.
