Scenario Two: Distressed
Divers On The Surface
 Background
 DIVER 1 turned abruptly and headed for DIVER 2 to
lend assistance.
Rescue - Open Water Rescue Senario Two

 DIVER 1 now fought the current with DIVER 2 in tow.


The current had died down in strength, but DIVER 1
was too exhausted to make it to the exit.
 DIVER 3 and DIVER 4 were suiting up for a dive and
noticed DIVER 1 and DIVER 2 struggling on the
surface. DIVER 1 and DIVER 2 started signaling for
help.

 Set Up
 Begin the scenario where DIVER 3 and DIVER 4 are
approaching DIVER 1 and DIVER 2 on the surface.

 Continue the scenario through the exit and into first


aid, if necessary, until you are asked to stop.

1. As part of a team or as an individual, effectively


respond to, calm, control and assist/tow to safety
simulated tired and/or panicked divers at the
surface.

 Conduct in open water in water too deep to stand
up in.

 Use normal and accepted gear for the local diving


environment.
 Also use pocket masks, lines, floats, marker buoys, a
first aid kit, an emergency oxygen kit and any other
pieces of equipment necessary to complete the
scenario.
