✣ A small black bird began to fly around, flapping with

SUMMARY
St. Benedict saw a malignant image of a naked girl. He jumped

around it to remove the image in his mind. The image of the girl
was gone and after telling this incident to his followers, many
were tempted by the devil.

✣ Benedict assumed control of the monastery and
insisted that his monks follow in the strictest manner
of Cenobite worship and mission. The monks were
constrained from all the temptations of physical
pleasures.

apples and vegetables were available for a third meal.

wine.

and the cup shattered, spilling its contents on the
floor. St. Benedict survived the assassination attempts
carried out by his ungrateful
8 charges.
SUMMARY
The Monks in the monastery was constrained with all
temptations with that reason, they tried to kill St.
Benedict by putting poison in the wine. The glass
shattered into pieces and the wine spilled into the ground
after making the sign of the cross.

✣ Florentius, blinded and increasingly devoured by the
fire of envy, went so far as to send to the Almighty's
servant a poisoned bread, as if blessed. St. Benedict
accepted it with thanks but escaped the trap that it
contained.

when he reached the crow, St. Benedict gave him
before the bread received by the priest, has
commanded him: "In the name of Jesus Christ, take
this bread and take it where no one can find it."

out the order. After having lingered for a long time,
eventually the Raven grabbed it and flew away. About
three hours later he returned without the bread, and
from the hand of the saint received the food it used to
have.
✣ Florentius having been unable to eliminate Benedict,
he instead tried to kill the souls of the disciples. He
sent to the monastery, seven naked girls holding
hands, danced for a long time to energize their carnal

disciples. Convinced that the persecution of Florentius
concern him alone, he decided to leave the field
before the envy of the priest.
✣ Almighty God struck the priest with a terrible
punishment. In fact, while he was on the terrace of the
house, rejoicing, for the departure of St. Benedict,
while remaining intact the whole house, the balcony
collapsed, burying Florentius under its rubble.

SUMMARY
Florentius was so envy to St. Benedict, because of that he tried
to poison St. Benedict in a form of a bread. A raven took the
bread and didn’t return with the bread but instead with the usual
food he eats. With Florentius unable to eliminate St. Benedict, he
sent 7 naked ladies to the monastery. St. Benedict saw it from his
cell. When St. Benedict Left the balcony collapsed and the rocks
fell that buried Florentius.
