What is Ingress
 Ingress is an online, massive multiplayer, augmented reality
game.
 It is played mostly via the Scanner App on Android
smartphones in 2013.
 Ingress is a Location Based game, which is one of the most
innovative aspects of it.
 You have to move towards the physical location of a Portal to
perform actions on it.
Goals of Game

 1. Deploy uncaptured Portals

 2. Attack and take over enemy Portals
 3. Link Friendly Portals to each other to
create Control Fields
 4. Defend friendly Portals and their Links /
Fields
 5. Maintain and expand Control Fields and
territory
Factions
 To participate in the game you should
have an invite from your friends.
 At beginning of the game we have to
select one of the faction.
 Enlightened:
• The Enlightened faction wants to Resistance
help Shapers to infiltrate Earth.
 Resistance:
• The Resistance faction fights to save
the Earth from Shapers.
Game Actions
 Exotic Matter is the driving force
behind all of the actions in Ingress.
 Progress in the game is measured
on an individual level primarily by
accumulating "Action Points" (or
AP).
 AP are awarded for a variety of in-
game actions: destroying or
damaging an enemy portal,
capturing, linking, or recharging a
portal, creating a control field, and
other actions.
Map
 A player using the mobile app is presented
with a map representing the surrounding
area.
  Visible on the map are portals, Exotic Matter
(XM), links, control fields, and items that
players have dropped from their inventory.
 Distances from the player to ingame
locations are displayed in metric units only, to
avoid confusion between players.
Portals
 The gameplay consists of capturing "portals"
at places of cultural significance, such
as public art, landmarks, monuments,
etc.,
  Players acquire portals for their faction by
"deploying" at least one "resonator" on
them.
 One faction attacks a portal to destroy its
resources and the other faction restores
them as they are damaged.
Ingress items
Resonators
XMP Bursters
Portal Keys
Control fields
Resonators
 Resonators are key Ingress
items for building Portals.
 They are used to gain control
of and level up Portals for
your Faction.
 They are obtained by Hacking
Portals or using Passcodes.
XMP Bursters
 If a portal is claimed by the enemy, the
player must first neutralize it by destroying
the opponents' resonators with weapons
called XMP (“Exotic Matter Pulse") Bursters,
the principal means of attacking a portal.
 XM itself is neutral, not aligned with either
faction, but an XMP Burster fired by a player
of one faction will damage any portal of the
other faction within range, while having no
effect on portals of the player's own faction.
Portal keys
 The Portal Key is the most important item in
Ingress if you want to create links and control
fields.
  APortal key can be acquired in a couple of
ways:
hacking portals or destroying links and then
picking it up.
Control fields
 Two portals that have all eight resonators
deployed and are controlled by the same
faction can be linked by a player from that
faction who stands within range of one and
has a portal key for the other.
 When three portals are linked in a triangle,
they create a control field, claiming the Mind
Units (MU) within that field for their faction.
 In an effort to capture as many MUs as
possible, additional fields can be created that
blanket other fields. This is called layering.
 At last, faction who
has captured more
portals are in top
position.
 The players decide
to meet at a specific
place to celebrate
their winning over
other faction.
Conclusion
 By playing this game
one can interact with
people and friends .
 Instead of sitting in
home and playing
video games which
only provides
refreshment for
brain.
 On the other hand
INGRESS provides
physical exercise and
also mental exercise.
