CYBER CRIME
Cyber crime, or computer oriented
crime, is crime that involves a computer
and a network. The computer may have
been used in the commission of a
crime, or it may be the target. Cyber
crimes can be defined as: "Offences
that are committed against individuals
or groups of individuals with a criminal
motive to intentionally harm the
reputation of the victim or cause
physical or mental harm, or loss, to the
victim directly or indirectly, using
modern telecommunication networks
such as Internet (networks including but
not limited to Chat rooms, emails,
notice boards and groups) and mobile
phones.
TYPES OF COMPUTER CRIMES

Crimes against confidentiality, integrity and availability of data


and computer systems:
Illicit access to computer systems.
Unlawful interception of computer data.
Interference in the operation of a computer system.
Abuse of devices that facilitate the commission of crimes.
Some examples of this group of crimes are: theft of identities, the
connection to unauthorized networks and the use of spyware and
keylogger.
Cybercrime:

Computer falsification
through the introduction,
deletion or deletion of
computer data.
Computer fraud through
the introduction,
alteration or deletion of
computer data, or
interference in computer
systems.
The fraudulent erasure of
data or the corruption of
files some examples of
crimes of this type.
OFFENSES RELATED TO
CONTENT:

Production, offer, dissemination, acquisition


of contents of child pornography, by means
of a computer system or possession of said
contents in a computer system or data
storage medium.
OFFENSES RELATED TO INFRACTIONS OF
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND RELATED
RIGHTS:

An example of this group of crimes is the copying


and distribution of computer programs, or hacking.
In order to criminalize acts of racism and
xenophobia committed through computer systems,
in January 2008 the "Additional Protocol to the
Cybercrime Convention of the Council of Europe"
was enacted, which includes, among other
aspects, the measures that must be taken in cases
from:

Dissemination of xenophobic or racist material.


Insults or threats with racist or xenophobic
motivation.
Negotiation, gross minimization, approval or
justification of genocide or crimes against
humanity.
