RESPONSE TO COVID-19
Kevin Lygo, ITV’s director of television, said in a statement: “ITV’s success is based on the ideas that are brought to us by
indies from across the UK and we don’t want that to stop.  We have this money specifically available to ramp up development
over the next few months so we can hit the ground running when current restrictions are lifted. The commissioning teams are
willing to increase the number of virtual meetings they have in order to build up an exciting slate over the next few months – so
if you have an idea for us, especially in the unscripted space, we are in a position to help fund that immediately.”

• ITV has created a £500,000 development fund targeted at the independent production sector-The fund is
designed to “accelerate” the search for new ideas and content — particularly in the unscripted space– for the channel to
play in the later part of 2020 and 2021

• ITV have special microphones with long booms to help news reporters

• The camera operators have found ever more creative ways to film, such as through windows when invited to do so; they
have been asking user to film for them inside their homes or work places when user want to show what is happening to
them

• ITV are conducting many interviews over Skype or other platforms

• ITV are reducing the size of the teams that go out and avoiding stepping out for news coverage, however there are still
some news which needs reporters to go out but they are following the guidelines given by Government

• Large number of reporters are now doing their journalism without stepping outside, researching their stories at home,
editing interviews they've conducted via Skype on their laptops then transferring their reports to the main newsroom

SCOPE REDUCTION/LOSS MANAGEMENT
ITV announced a number of measures to reduce its costs and manage its cashflow in response to the Covid-19
pandemic. ITV’s priority is to protect its people, while striving to ensure that it continues to keep viewers informed and
entertained through delivering the news and programme its viewers value and love to watch

The Committee has decided to use its available discretion to apply the Remuneration Policy for 2020 in the following ways
for this year:

• The Annual Bonus for the Executive Directors and Management Board has been cancelled and there will be no cash bonus
payable to them in respect of the Company’s performance in 2020

• A voluntary 20 per cent reduction in base salary for the Executive Directors and Management Board for the duration of
the current Government-imposed lockdown. In the event that the lockdown continues beyond June 30th, the Committee
will review this matter again at that time

• The Non-Executive Directors will also take a 20 per cent reduction in their fees for the same period of time

• As part of cost saving measure, ITV has put in place a recruitment and salary freeze across the company

CSR
• ITV is using its reach and scale to support mental wellbeing during the coronavirus pandemic, with another
film set to launch this week encouraging people to reach out to elderly or vulnerable neighbours- ITV has
launched the next leg of its mental health campaign ‘Britain Get Talking’ sooner than planned in a bid to use its scale and
reach as force for good during the Covid-19 pandemic
