Flag!
INTRODUCTIO
N
Capture the flag is a
paralympic sport created for
people with different types of
lower limb amputation,
cognitive deficit and hearing
loss, it is a mixed sport that
requires speed, agility and the
creation of good strategies to
achieve the capture of the flag.
OBJECTIVE

Capture the opposing team's


flag without being caught by
completing as many flags in 60
minutes.

PLACE OF
The game place will be a field with PLAY
natural grass flooring, which is very
resistant to trampling by people, in
the same way it is a material that
does not cause diseases or pests.

The playing field has the following


measurements:

100 meters long in total


40 meters wide
5 meters long that will be the area of ​
the point, where the flag of the
opposing team will be located.

● 2 teams

● Each team will have a total of


12 players, of which 8 will
remain on the field of play and
4 will be on the bench as a
substitute option.

RULES
➔ You can't drop the flag

➔ There will be a maximum of 8 players on the playing field

➔ If a player from the opposing team freezes one of the


participants, the participant must wait for a player from the
same team to thaw it.

➔ A maximum of 9 accompanying delegation members who can


sit in the
team bank and has special responsibilities: Director, doctor,
physical therapist, statistician, interpreter and four
replacement players.
GENERAL
RULES
➔ Players may not attack participants of the opposing team
and if it did, the judge will determine the appropriate
sanction that may include the player's expulsion from the
field of play.

➔ Each team must have a captain, who will give instructions


during the game.

➔ Only two changes can be made per team during game time.

➔ For the point to be valid, you must pass the flag to at least 5
teammates.
RULES

➢ You should not have more than one person guarding


the flag.

➢ The player who is in the game and requires a change


by a bench player must request it from the game judge.

➢ The player who completes 3 times will be expelled from


the game. The first sanction will be a yellow card, the
second sanction another yellow card and the third
sanction a red card.

➢ Each player must have his uniform respect when


entering the field of play
SCORE

The score will be calculated as follows:

● 3 points will be obtained for each victory, this victory


will be given to the team that catches the most flags.
● 1 point per tie will be obtained
● 0 points will be earned for defeat
● The team that achieves 15 points wins
COMPETITIO
- First Phase 3 groups of 4 teams were N SYSTEM
formed; all destined by lottery.
- The first 2 of each group and the best
two third will rank.
- With the 8 teams classified and
distributed by lottery for
confrontations in the direct extraction
phase.
- With the 4 classified teams, the draw
will be held for confrontations in the
direct extraction phase.

If there is a tie in points in the


classification, the tiebreaker will be
defined by applying the following items:
- For the highest number of games
won.
- For the highest number of points

GLOSSARY
● Paralympic sport: Covers a wide range of sports for people with disabilities
who participate in sports competitions at different levels.
● Amputation: Separation or cutting of a limb or part of the body of a living
being, generally by means of a surgical operation.
● Teams:Group of people playing together against each other in a sports
competition
● Score: Number of points obtained in an exercise or test.
● Cognitive deficit: A disorder characterized by below-average intellectual
capacity 70, with an onset age prior to 18 years and concurrent deficit or
insufficiency in adaptive activity.
● Hearing deficit: It is the difficulty that some people present to participate in
activities typical of daily life, which arises as a consequence of the interaction
between a specific difficulty in perceiving the sounds of the environment
through hearing
GLOSSARY

● Rules: Principles that are imposed or adopted to direct the conduct


or the correct performance of an action or the correct development
of an activity.
● Competition System: it is a method of elimination in order to
select the participants of the next round until the end when there is a
champion
● Classification: It is to distinguish elements, people and group them
according to their characteristics.
