I. PROFILE

• Julsport Garments and Uniform Center is a tailoring


and manufacturing garments owned by Mr. Julius L.
Lovitos. They have two branches located at Lapu-
lapu Extension, Zone III, Digos City and the other at
1st Crumb St. Zone II Digos City.

• Julsport founded year 2015 at Rizal Avenue near LYR


Marketing, transferred to 1st Crumb at 2017 and open
the second branch last November 2018.
• Julsport Garments and Uniform Center offers
variety of tailoring services including school
uniform, sports uniform, customize designs,
clothing repair and they also offer printing
services in connection to their sportswear.
II. Pestle Analysis
A. Political
• The City Government of Digos in partnership with
DPWH implemented road widening and Julsport
Garments and Uniform Center needed to transfer
business location.
• The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) regulates the
taxation that is highly concerned of all businesses out
there as well as of the Julsport Garments and Uniform
Center which they are obliged to follow.
• As of 2019 aside from his annual tax he also pays 12%
withholding tax and it is added to his yearly
expenses.
B. Economic

Amidst from rising inflation rates Julsport Garments


and Uniform Center remain its business stable because
garments is human basic necessity, even if the cost of its
product is slowly affected by attributes people will still
conformed because it is needed.
C. Social

• Julsport Garments and Uniform Center is a service


oriented establishment, as its nature is people it has to
abide with the customers satisfaction.
• As of 2019 we have a total of 81 learning centers in
Digos City (Philippines-street.openalfa.com) and out of
50 students here in UM, 95% choose a tailored uniform
than buying from RTW, reasons are comfort, quality
and fitness to individual measurement.
• The owner stated that their customers are majority
males, this is not just because of their sportswear line;
he says school uniform costumers are dominantly
males. As of city population info male has the greater
number with the population rate of 50.6% than females
with age distribution of 37% 10-29 years old as of 2015.
• As they maintain regular clients, referrals from their
clients help them to build an even larger customer base.
D. Technological

• Julsport Garments and Uniform Center uses high-


speed sewing machines.
• They have 11 machines in 1st Crumb branch and 8
machines in the Lapu-Lapu branch raging from single
thread to 4 thread singer sewing machines, which
makes them highly competitive in the garment
industry to produce guaranteed quality output in the
city.
• They also have rubberized sportswear printing.
• Though they have a stable production since Julsport
was founded a slow decline of production is evident
from 2017 to 2019 due to availability of sublimation
printing in the market which becomes the trend of
printing process as of today.
• Though the owner aims to provide this kind of
technology but because of its high cost he became a sub
contract to be the jersey maker and have it printed from
the other printing shop to maintain the number of
production of the business.

E. Legal

• Tailors and dress makers come and go and business


owner Mr. Lovitos stated that he do not have any
regular employee because the nature of the business
falls of contract or “pakyawan” bases, salary depends
on numbers of outputs and number of employees
depends on season.

• The common issues in every tailoring shop are


complains in fitting and size adjustments and since the
business is service oriented they have to do as
customers specifications.
F. Environmental

• Enrolment season is the busiest; May to August is the


period where demand for school uniforms reaches its
pick. To be able to cope up with the demand, hiring
additional manpower and extending working hours for
the employees is implemented while jerseys or
sportswear is during July – December every year.

• Proper disposal of textile waste are 90% recyclable.


Scrap cuts or “retaso” are sold to rug makers and tiny
scraps are collected by the CENRO.
Business location determines the price of rentals. It
adds to their operating expenses of the business
owner but does not directly affect the production.
