Overview

• City of Wyandotte, MI 2018


• Used SIPP method to rehabilitate roughly 3,500-ft of pipe
• This was a sort of test trial as the old method the city used to use was open cutting
• Was used to rehabilitate pipes dating back to the 30s and 50s
• Roughly 110-mi of water mains within the town

Results
• The 3,500-ft was rehabilitated in about a month
• Lower cost compared to open cutting (20%-30%)
• Minimized inconvenience on customers in use of the water main
• Minimized amount of construction needed compared to that of open cutting
• Extended pipe’s life by 50-75 years
