PROPOSALS
It is a document that is used
to convince a sponsor that a
project needs to be kick-off to
solved a particular business
problem or opportunity.
6 Types of Proposal
1. FORMALLY SOLICITED – It is when the customer asks for a
proposal. They may ask verbally or they may issue a
written request for proposal (RFP).
2. INFORMALLY SOLICITED – are typically the result of
conversations held between a vendor and a prospective
customer.
3. UNSOLICITED – It is when you send them a proposal they
haven’t even asked for because you think they should buy
from you or take some action.
4. CONTINUATION – requests the already approved funds for
the next phase or next year of the project.
5. RENEWAL- is a request for additional funding for a
support period subsequent to that provided by a standard
or continuing grant.
6. SUPPLEMENTAL - asks for an increase in support for a
proposal that has already been funded.

1. DESCRIPTIVE – indicates the types of information

work nor does it provide results or conclusions of
the research. It does incorporate key words found
in the text and may include the purpose, methods,
and scope of the research.
2. INFORMATIVE ABSTRACT – Includes the
information that can be found in a descriptive
abstract ( purpose, methods, scope ) but also
includes the results and conclusions of the
research and the recommendation of the author

describing main findings and information, a
judgement or comment about the study’s validity,
