Crop
• Deleting part of an image to produce a better picture
EPS
• a DSC-conforming PostScript document with additional restrictions which
is intended to be usable as a graphics file format.
Flatten
• To edit or to make transparent ( or nontransparent ).
• Combining layers into one.
GIF
• Use for line art, logos, cartoons, shapes, illustrations, and drawing.
• lossless format for image files that supports both animated and static
images.
JPEG

• Use for photographs.


• Can be used for print.
• Does not support transparency or animation.
• Does NOT maintain layers.
• a format for compressing image files.
Opacity
the condition of lacking transparency or translucence; opaqueness.
PNG
• Best used for electronic display.
• Does not support animation.
• Use for line art, cartoons, and photographs.
• Now commonly used on the web because they maintain layers and
transparent back round.
• NOT suitable for print.
• “Loss less” compression.
Raster
• Raster is the same as Bitmap.
• Bitmap – Made up of a grid of pixels.
• Fill Extensions – JPG JPEG GIF BMP etc.
• a rectangular pattern of parallel scanning lines followed by the electron
beam on a television screen or computer monitor.
Resolution
• a firm decision to do or not to do something
SVG
• an XML-based vector image format for two-dimensional graphics with
support for interactivity and animation.
TIFF
• Large file size.
• Used for print only.
• a format for image files.
Transparency
• an image, text, or positive transparent photograph printed on transparent
plastic or glass, able to be viewed using a projector.

Vector
• a quantity having direction as well as magnitude, especially as
determining the position of one point in space relative to another.
