• Slum redevelopment and prevention
• Old and dilapidated buildings
• Affordable housing for EWS/LIG
• Housing for PAPs.
• Housing for pavement dwellers.
• Hassle free environment for private
development.

SLUM REHABILITATION

• Law for Slum redevelopment, prevention already


in existence.
• 1/1/95 cut off date; 269 sq.ft. entitlement; free
houses
main features of the policy.
• SRA constituted in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur.
Other places IHSDP, BSUP schemes being
implemented.

OLD AND DILAPIDATED BUILDINGS
• Problem acute in island city, suburbs, Thane.
• Nearly 27000 buildings.
• Island city: incentive FSI, cluster development
approach.
• Suburbs: Policy is evolving pursuant to adoption
of Afzalpurkar committee report.
• Thane: Issue being studied by Agarwal
committee.

• Reservation in DP for EWS/LIG Housing.


• Reservation in housing schemes also.
• Liberalizing FSI, particularly for MHADA
• Cross subsidization.
• Affordable rental housing.
•Satellite township development.
