•It is a nodal agency recognized by the NCTE for
admission, Guidance, Exams for pre primary
teacher education and elementary education.
 SIGNIFICANCE
•To organize and implement the special
education projects sponsored by NCERT and
other agencies for qualitative improvement
of school education and teacher educators.
•To prescribed curricula and textbooks for the
school and teacher training institutions.
•To produce instructional materials for the
use of teacher educators.
•To arrange in service training for
different categories of teachers.
 OBJCTIVES
•To develop the curriculum aiming at an all
round development of the child and at all levels
of education.

programmes and to provide Distance Education.

•It is the most significant intervention in the country.
•DIET were set up in almost all the districts of all the
states in the county.
•The purpose is to conduct different kinds of
trainings programmes to improve the quatity of
elemantary education and create a desirable
environment.
