 This course has been designed to enable students to understand


the database design and implementation.
 State the importance of DBMS and explain how DBMS is better
than traditional File Processing Systems.
 Analyze the basic structure of Database and recognize the
different views of the database.
 Draw and Investigate Data Flow and Entity Relationship
Diagrams
COURSE OBJECTIVES
■ The course aims to introduce basic database concepts,
different data models, data storage and retrieval
techniques and database design techniques. The course
primarily focuses on relational data model and DBMS
concepts.
■ In this course we will discuss different topics of
databases that enables the software to work efficiently.
■ This course is first (fundamental) course on database
systems.
