Receiving and storing are important flow control
activities in the materials management chain
Store management encompassed acquisition shipping,
receiving , distribution of good.
The word “stores” refer to the place where all kind of
goods are held in stock.
storage is defined as act of storing the goods.

To maintain optimum stock of material to compensate
for irregular supplies by supplier.

decentralization of stores for each production
centre.

which require similar handling equipment may be
grouped together.
