What Is Bar Chart?
A bar graph is a chart that uses either horizontal or
vertical bars to show comparisons among
categories.

01
represents a
discrete value.

Axis

shows the specific

Axis categories being
compared
02
Horizontal bar chart:
It is also possible to draw bar charts so that the bars are
horizontal which means that the longer the bar, the
larger the category.

3
Grouped bar chart:
A grouped or clustered bar graph is used to represent
discrete values for more than one item that share the
same category.

4
What Is Histogram?
It is a representation of a frequency distribution by
means of rectangles whose widths represent class
intervals and whose areas are proportional to the
corresponding frequencies.

Simple Example:

 Consider the following set for example

{1,2,2,3,3,3,3,4,4,5,6}
 we can graph them like this:

6
Data Ranges :

Data Range Frequency

0-10 1

10-20 3

20-30 6

30-40 4

40-50 2

7
Pie chart:
A Pie Chart (or Pie Graph) is a circular chart divided into
sectors, each sector shows the relative size of each
value.

Example : Student Grades

4 12 10 2

D Geade A Geade

C Geade

9
Presented Using a Pie Chart?

 Pie charts are a visual way of displaying data that might

otherwise be given in a small table.

 Nominal data are categorized according to descriptive or

qualitative information such as county of birth or type of pet
owned.

 Pie charts are generally used to show percentage or

proportional data
