Adoption of Polish Foreign Policy

• The Council of Ministers has adopted the priorities of Polish


foreign policy, including Poland’s strategy for the European
Union, for the years 2012-2016.
• Government Administration Branches Act of 4 September 1997
• The goal of the Council of Ministers is to present to citizens the
vision, priorities and overall foreign policy tasks in the
perspective of 2016.

the political and cultural relations between the Philippines and
Poland.

• Economic relations between Poland and the Philippines is


mostly limited to trade.
• Trade between the two countries reached €151 million in 2012.
• 70% of Philippine exports to Poland is composed of electronics.
• In 2008, the Philippine government temporarily ordered a ban
on Polish poultry imports.

• There is minimal Polish investment in the country.


• Despite this, however, the Polish government has expressed
confidence in the Philippines' economic potential.

• 49 overseas Filipino workers were repatriated by the Overseas
Workers Welfare Administration.

Administration listed Poland as one of 76 countries considered
to be "friendly" to the concerns of overseas Filipino workers.

• Bolivia and Philippines were both Spanish colonies.

• The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires exercised jurisdiction


over Bolivia.
• The Embassy of Bolivia in Tokyo has jurisdiction over the

• As of December 2012, there are 12 Filipinos living in Bolivia.

Highlights of Bilateral Relations
• Congressman Jose Macario L. Laurel headed a study visit on
Micro-finance institutions in Peru on 30 January to February
1999 and in Bolivia on 2-6 February 1999.

• Senator Aquilino Pimentel participated in a study visit


sponsored by U.S. Agency for the International Development
(USAID) and the National Credit Council (NCC) of the
Department of Finance on 27 January to February 1999 in
Guatemala, Bolivia and Peru.

• First Lady Imelda Marcos visited La Paz, Bolivia on 4 August


1975 for the celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the
founding of Bolivian Republic.
• Secretary Domingo L. Siazon, Jr. had occasion to meet with
the Foreign Minister of Bolivia in bilateral meetings with
members of the Rio Group in U.N. General Assembly.
