What is Stand-alone computers?
• These are the most common set-up that is used in
workplaces. As the name suggests, a stand-alone
computer can function on its own provided that proper
installation has been accomplished. It has its own CPU,
main memory, and storage devices to name a few. The
installation of these type is the easiest since it only needs
the common components of a computer system.
Examples of these systems are desktop
computers and laptops.
Stand-alone Computers
What is Client Computers?
• These looks similar to a stand-alone computer but
has minimal integrated components. Most of the
processing capabilities comes from what is called a
server. Client computers are commonly used in big
offices that requires centralized data. This type of
system could not function on its own.
Servers Computer
• These are the most powerful computer systems in
any workplace. Servers provide the processing
power needed by the client computers attached to
it. Servers also serve as the heart of a business
that requires centralized data.
