below the rubber connection pipe between the
filler tube and tank.
2. Remove the clamp from the rubber filler tube
3. Remove the vent hose at the filler tube
4. Remove the two bolts retaining the tube
5. Slide the tube out of the hydraulic tank support
6. Cover the fuel tank opening to ensure no dirt
enters

4 Retaining bolts
• Clean and inspect the pipe to see the leak
• If the leak is obvious and is a small hole,
repair it by welding
• If the leak is not obvious, fully weld around
the both sides of the flange plate
Welding comments
• The fuel pipe is thin-wall steel pipe.
• It can be welded with manual arc (MAW), MIG or
bronze welded with a gas flame (brazing).
• Care must be taken not to burn through the thin
steel pipe
• It is recommended that the diesel be well
cleaned from the pipe to reduce the fire risk

• Ensure the pipe is clean after welding and

before it is reassembled
• The weld may be leak tested by setting the
pipe as shown (so that the weld is at the
lowest point)
• Fill the pipe with diesel and observe for
leaking around the welds.
